To be fair, it is an international phone. Probably one we wouldn't see in the US, so I don't think Samsung would put anything better. I'm assuming it won't sell that well either.
I don't know how anyone is supposedly able to see the pixel grid on this phone because I certainly can't and my vision is nigh perfect, I suppose if you have the eyes of a hawk you might be able to see them but even then it's not like the average user gives a s*** what resolution their phone is. The main reason for the 720p screen is for samsung to cut back on costs but a lower resolution also means longer battery life which the average cares more about .
