The Motorola Razr was announced in 2019 as the first foldable clamshell phone on the market. Therefore, the OEM set its price at US$1499.99 on its launch. Those who find this outlay for a phone powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC off-putting may be interested to know that it has a special reduced price on its US website until June 21, 2020.

Yes, the price was sky-high to start - considering the device performance specs. But these silly carrier-exclusive deals don't make sense. You want to get the new-fangle tech in as many retail shops as possible - why would you limit exposure & availability? At least the 3 top carriers should have been offering the Razr until now. And then expand to sales in the big box electronics stores like Best Buy.
Motorola kinda hurt themselves with what could have been a really big device introduction in sales.
