HP's products like to visually distinguish themselves from the masses. With the Victus 16, the manufacturer presents an elegant gaming laptop in the 16-inch format that includes some powerful components.

My 90W non-Super Max-Q 2070 laptop matches this 95W 3060 in Time Spy Graphics (7433) and the some of the gaming benchmarks (a bit surprising given my laptop has a slower i7-8750H) with some overclocking in Afterburner. The 30-series laptops are pretty ordinary unless you're going for the 115W+ 3060's or a full power 3070/3080.

Another laptop with a very weak Cinebench R23 multi. 10097 points when maximum is at 13000+ points for 5800H.

Is 100% sRGB real? Does that cheap pavilion thing come with 100% sRGB panel for real?

LL

Should be possible, my Lenovo 5 17 1100 euro also came with one
72% NTSC roughly 100% sRGB.

It's a give-and-take with large touchpads, isn't it? On the one hand you get more mousing surface, on the other the keyboard moves further away from you. Nice laptop though, looks like HP did a good job on this one.

Victus 16 has a very bright keyboard backlight with no adjustment, uncomfortable to use in a dark room. Beware.

To the editors: please highlight whether laptops in review have a MUX switch or "advanced Optimus".
It would also be nice to get a confirmation that the HDMI port is indeed 2.1 and that it's not an error in the spec sheet. This is a big selling point of this laptop for me.

Thank you, appreciate the warning.

Of note: I've heard from a Youtube reviewer that Victus 16 - but not sure which specific model - used to come with a 100% sRGB screen, but the good screens quickly ran out of stock and they switched to the regular dull 60% screen akin to those found in every other low-end gaming laptop.

In local reviews, declarations are never checked, so the reviews here are not complete. But no one else does that either. Therefore, the value of reviews is reduced significantly, taking into account the fraud of manufacturers of processors, video cards and laptops.

You mention it not having thunderbolt, yet it does have the thunderbolt logo next to the usb-c connectors. Could someone confirm if those are or are not TB connectors?
Related question: are those USB type-c connectors good for connecting to a dock station with 2 HD displays, UTP and a couple other USB storage devices?

The Ryzen 7 5800H is too powerful for this laptop. Unless you turn off boost in the Windows power management, you get overheating and graphic artifacts. Problem is, you are paying for performance you cannot use. Mine is matched with the 3050ti.
