Title: Dell XPS battery swollen.
Post by: darwinland on July 11, 2020, 21:43:33
I have bought an DELL XPS 2 years and 2 months ago. Recently  I discovered an scratch in the screen that was due to the touchpad pop out of his place, because a swollen battery. I tryed to explain dell that this is a design issue, as they have in the past also issues with batteries in XPs series, even one computer burn during the night when  charging. They extend in the past the 2 years warranty for other XPS for covering a battery swollen. They refuse doing it to my  computer even deny the 2 years warranty that in EU is stated by law. Now I have a broken touchpad, a scratch in screen, the key pad also pop out and the computer doestn fit when closing, all this in a 2000%u20AC computer. They also prevent me to put any review in DELL website, so if you are thinking about buying a dell, please have my experience in mind before doing it.

Hi Darwinland

Omg :o, those are no good news at all but I feel with you. Didn't buy a Dell but a Lenovo and there where scratches on my Display, Display looks like it's gotten glued together, you can even see it in the rills how the glue composite is pressing out. So I can assure you its not just Dell and by the way, they refuse to exchange it and don't really care on top of it the batteries life stated isn't equivalent to how long the battery works when fully loaded.

To be honest before I chose the Lenovo, I wanted to buy a Dell, since I have worked with this Laptop Brand at work and was satisfied with it and the nice and comfortable Keyboard had convinced me at that time.
But reading this review I'm not so sure I would in the future.

General question is there something up in the air with bad client service reg. bought Laptops and issues in general?

I mean the experiences are quite similar with everyone here on their Laptop buys.

Sincerely
