Windows on ARM has yet to take off, but the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 could change the performance equation considerably. New details have surfaced about the chip, and it could be just what WoA devices need to put them on a more even footing with native x86 ultrabooks.

Kirin 980 has 8 billion transistors and is smaller than the predecessor.. so this is not impressive at all.

They need something like 500% performance boost to reach i5 levels of performance (talking about 4 cores/4 threads). They can't possibly do this in less than 3 generations and by then, Intel will have 8 cores/16 threads on laptops...
