I just bought this exact product like a week ago. It works as advertised and described in this article. Got connected to HDMI 1080p 144Hz 8-bit display, keyboard, mouse, Gigabit ethernet, and 1 external SSD through USB 3.0 and it work just fine.
Learn the hard way that my USB-C laptop and iPad Pro doesn't work with Thunderbolt 3 dock, but with this they do work.
