The Redmi Note 8 Pro may come in a host of enticing colours, but its 64 MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 rear-facing camera leaves plenty to be desired. We found the Note 8 Pro wanting in low-light conditions, with shortcomings in other areas like dynamic range and colour balance. Camera experts agree, too.

Finally truth about this phone,! I appreciate your text and opinion! Thank you! I always claimed that RN8pro is below average!😉
Awfull title. It's almost somebody paid you to say do not buy Xiaomi mod range phones! There is nothing in the market comes close to Redmi Note 8 range on this price range. You article has no value.

Purely paid article.. nothing compare to this midrange mi phone with the price range... Just around one third of the price ..
Below average is not ok for me, above average is the truth about this phone when it comes of it's price Range. and that's my opinion, maybe on you , it is, because you're a Realme boy . And they have paid you. To down other brands. And that's also my opinion. No hurts but accept the truth here my friend. And again your article is no Value.
Below average GPU? I did a benchmark test, and it punches way above it's weight class. It can easily run every 3D game I've thrown at it. This entire article is bogus. I don't understand the hate towards such a remarkable device. This phone has absolutely incredible performance in all areas for the price. I would strongly recommend it.
But can you do this? (dual apps display)
Though I appreciate the efforts put in evaluating products so the consumer can have an enlightened (somewhat) purchasing decision...in everyday uses of this camera I found it to perform exactly as I expected...no regrets..the camera is outstanding...excellent value
This article is a piece of s***. Redmi 8 Pro is outstanding.
Accept the fact that majority of consumer meet their expectation. Granted what they want for a smartphone Good appearance, high performance chipset, good camera and long lasting battrry and the best part for a cheaper price.
Below average against what? Phone with double its prices?
I'm an Asus boy, but as smartphone enthusiast I've to said this phone is a killer among its price range and the gap against second place is staggering.
I hope this article will not pay for one of this companies... Redmi 8 Pro is very realible phone, better that Samsung A50...I bought one of them that was a Limon...very bad phone.
As a North America n consumer, the only missing in my case is one of the frequencies, everything else is very good...Good appearance, high performance chipset, good camera and long lasting battrry and the best part for a cheaper price.
The cuality of the pictures and video is good.... Something is wrong in your article..:(. To much stress on the camera.
I hope you don't loose your independency for another smart phone..so far you are doing a good judgement.
I keep scrolling down to find with more scientific research of this article.. but I find nothing..
just some random childish haters get paid article.
What is your baseline of comparison?
ONEPLUS 7 Pro?
Weak GPU? LoL.. This weak GPU is in league with Snapdragon's latest midrange chip the 730G..
What the hell are u comparing it with? Snapdragon 855?
Its funny how Notebookcheck posted an article that shows Redmi Note 8 pro antutu score is the highest among mid range phones, beating some SD730G powered phone and here it says its got a weak GPU..
Totally crap article, i am using this phone for 3 months now and it is outstanding phone with strong miui 11 and hardware..what else do you want to 200 euro and camera is also outstanding, notebookchat.com is crap dont follow it, useless people
I couldn't understand how they are degrading a company, which has a massive welcome from the hearts of people right from Redmi 2 to till date. Notebook has not received any from Xiaomi. Till the date Redmi cannot be compitable with its products at the Price. I am using Rendu from notre. I am not facing any problems. My entire family using Rendu of different models.
I strongly disagree.
I have that note 8 Pro and note 10 pro and I must say the optical stabilisation makes a big difference when the phone is not on a gimbal /tripod in low light conditions.

You ppl do not know what are you writing about...
I have the phone for 3 months now and it's amaizing in all areas for the money...
From the 4500mha battery to the screen and especialy the GPU!!!!!!
So please...I do not know who paid you for this but you are...i do not have the words for it...
May the force be with you...
I have used this my new device for close to three months now and it is very ok in every aspect including the cameras and video. I don't know what you people are talking about. Redmi Note 8 Pro is very outstanding in performance. Stop discouraging people from buying it.
I'd say buy Redmi Note 8 Pro for it's camera, especially the camera hardware it offer. Yes the default/stock camera app has a sluggish image processing algorithm but most people who would buy this phone aim for another reason, free upgrade if u may: that is installing Gcam app. Boom, u have a Pixel 3a level camera quality with more powerful processing power. I used Redmi 5 Plus until today, with Gcam as default camera. It's 200% better than the stock.
Crap article ?
Total crap article.. Using a xiaomi redmi note 8 pro.. Camera top notch. Gpu insane. Doesn't overheat. Maybe I got the only good one. Lol
Whoever wrote this article better quit being a writer. This article didn't even include how they compared the redmi device to another device. Proof to show comparison to another device. Totally biased article just because you're paid?? Disgusting
I have my redmi note 8 pro which I have not used at moment. Check review and camera review I think it's excellent phone. All phone have their short come like £1200 phone. High flagship phone need learn something from xiaomi phone who keep price down and offer flagship quality and performance. Well done xiaomi
Shut Up u bastard reviewer.u are totally worng reviewing. REDMI NOTE 8 PRO is the best phone under 17k for camera,GPU,CPU everything.
Own it and see realme phones bmget slow just after 2 to 3 months use but redmi phones performing constant at least 2 years..
Note 8 Pro is the real value for money phone in every aspect and specially for pubg players..
Awfully written. Everything here is not true.
Weak GPU? Heating surface? Lol realme paid you to write this? Or you're one of those Pocophone users that are bitter with RN8pro?
SHAME ON YOU, ALEX ANDERSON. SLANDERER EWW. QUIT YOUR JOB AS "WRITER". APPLE WORSHIPPER
Redmi Note 8 Pro it's a very good phone this story is misleading
I really wanted to know what are the bad things about this phone but your article sucks, it is so bad it does not even use argument to support your claims. You only say like"experts agree"... Well experts agree people without areguments are just idiots ... Yeah the truth hurst... This article is just trash.
This ( do not buy ) is realllly sucks ! It have only one meaning ! You have personal problem with this brand ;D
Know this , i won't give a s*** to what are you saying !
My friend have rn8pro and i have used it too !
Such a great phone , very nice photos , rec video .
Your bullshits for ur self 8)
Xiaomi phone cameras are good enough. All you need is to install a moded google camera on that phone the results will be so different
Nice phone. If you want a good cam buy mi 9 lite. The 64mp samsung isocell sensor sucks. This phone has a better gaming performance than mi 9 lite.
But mi 9 lite has snapdragon, so Gcam works fine... Mi 9 lite has hdr super amoled display way superior than this device. redmi note 8 pro is IPS LCD while mi 9 lite is SUPER AMOLED. With HDR support.
Mi 9 lite uses Sony's 48MP imx 586 sensor. You can check gsm arena cam comparing tool. You will see that redmi note 8 pro's cam is lacking detail despite higher MP, noise and bad color production (blacks look purplish)...
And the low light performance sucks on redmi note 8 pro. Other than that solid device tbh.
Would i buy it hell no...
I need AMOLED/OLED Display with hdr. I need microsd, I need 3.5mm plug, I need snapdragon not mediatek soc and I definitely need a flagship level cam.
Mi9 lite is good to go but I'm waiting for mi 10 lite which will have sony imx 686. Even a better cam. Almost iPhone killer grade..
Really Fake review, this phone have good performance.
Ur review is not technically
I got this phone on the 2nd of January 2020.
The phone is awesome, and the camera is GREAT as well, much better camera quality than the iPhone 8's and below. From what I hear tho, there are additional apps that make the camera better, slow motion video.
Great phone.
@Alex Alderson
Your biased opinions should not be expressed. It's clear that you are hating on Xiaomi for providing a wonderful phone with great quality while keeping their prices low. You should be ashamed for trying to sabotage this product.
Really true, camera are not good as specified. The handset has 10X zoom, but whn zooming not taking good image, below VGA camera.
I use this phone from 5-th of Jan, 2020. When I zoom on a object to take a photo, I have to hold the phone stable, it means that you should follow the rules for take a photo with zoom. In the other hand, in low light mood you should change the setting. I am very happy to buy this phone. All spec are great for 200$ phone and comparable with flagship of other brands. The last thing, the battery is awesome. :)
You really shouldn't be reviewing smartphones if this is your unbiased review of the Note 8 pro. You goofed big time and I'm disappointed
I believe this is paid review, if not then you are stupid enough to write this. Which phone are you comparing with RN8 Pro? This is best phone under 14K. Forget about DXO, in real life this phone can taken great photos and works like a charm. You should take down this post to stop the humiliation.
I bought this phone for my wife for Christmas and she loves it and it takes great photos and has very good battery life too. Also good performance and overall it can easily compete with much more expensive brands.
I disagree with you, the redmi note 8 pro camera is very good. the resulting image is very satisfying to me. if we see the results on the screen of android and laptop shows the same results.
I really do not believe this article. I have tried various other brands whose camera results are only good when viewed on my Android screen, and very bad when we see it on a laptop.
if you don't believe it, please visit and see the results of the redmi note 8 pro camera on my Instagram.

I'm sorry, but you probably don't have very high standards when it comes to smartphone camera photography. Low light photography is poor. But as long as you're happy then it's all good.
I really like how everyone who owns this smartphone is salty and would rip the writer's head off, just because he said something bad about it. I recommend you go check out the DxOMark review. Not that the RN8 Pro is bad, but there are some similarly priced phones that do take better photos. The 64 MPx camera is just a gimmick.
I disagree and agree! Let me explain... If you use the standard settings, you get normal pictures (not the worst either btw), but if you use the pro mode you get to have full control of white balance, exposure, and ISO and then you get awesome pictures. But even better... Some mods managed to get Gcam working for the RN*PRO. Now it makes super awesome pictures :-) The problem is not with the hardware but with the software.
Its a paid hit piece, dont stress toi much guys
What a load of unsubstantiated twaddle. Notebook check should stick to checking notebooks.
