Title: Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2 laptop review: Business convertible now with Tiger Lake
Post by: Redaktion on April 23, 2021, 20:14:54
Lenovo has equipped its entry-level business convertible with an up-to-date Tiger Lake processor and a modern Thunderbolt 4 port. However, the compact ThinkPad still has to do without a 16:10 screen in this generation. Is the update worth it anyway?

Just a fair warning to everyone- the L13 series, starting from L380 is riddled with problems. See for yourself on reddit or thinkpad forums. I advise people against buying this series.

The gap between the L and X is getting smaller.
Also the performance to noise ratio is still not great.
I had both an X13Y and the Spin 5 and the latter was faster and quiter.

under performant - why a tgl processor can have R15 marks similar or worse than that of kbl-r machines, i.e. those equipped with 8250u/8550u?

8gb, all soldered, no expansion possible - seriously? a business line convertible whose main use is view local PDF and watch netflix?

convertible with 300 nit - you'd better hope you're always work inside some building with subpar ambient light conditions

I don't see anything appealing besides the thinkpad style aesthetics...

I have to agree with the previous comment. I liked the pen support, keyboard and touchpad, but my 8250u laptop has better performance than this. Also, when you pay such a high price and buy a thinkpad I'd expect memory to be upgradable.

Last year I tried a laptop with a 10310U and two with 1065G7. The first one was faster under sustained load than my old SP3 (4300U) but by not that much, while beeing hot and loud. The ones with the 1065G7 were quiter and faster.
So from 8th gen the main reason to upgrade is the graphics imo.
