Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon, for example, targets affluent business customers who are willing to spend almost 2000 Euro (~$2800) for the top-of-the-line version. I'd recommend users to opt for the 8gb ram. Since the ram is soldered, you have no upgrade options other than from the factory. And with SSDs, you probably want to limit memory swap.
