The screen is worse than the M7. M7's screen contrast is more than 2000:1 while the M8 can't even reach 1000:1.
I'm having big issues with my HTC One M8 crashing using Google Maps. It does it every time, very annoying! Swapped phone for new ones three times and it still does this.
The camera though I was expecting it to not be awesome is disappointing too. Took almost 30 pictures of a car I was going to buy and only about 6 of them were clear and not overexposed or blurry, sigh...
Metal case is great looking and feel but scratches even if breathed on, lol!
I'm disappointed in the crashing and phone overall :(
