Post by: Redaktion on April 28, 2020, 21:50:42
QNAP Systems has debuted its new 1.7GHz TS-x31K series for network-attached storage (NAS) of a residential or private magnitude. It comes in 1- to 4-bay SKUs, each of which supports Gigabit Ethernet and SATA 6Gb/s. They also all have AES-256 bit encryption and lockable bays.

I sure do wish 2.5Gbs ethernet ports were the minimum by now. I just had to ditch my NAS and go DAS because the speed is excruciating as capacities continue to increase.

While we have one convincing NAS, the Asus Nimbustor with two 2.5Gbs ports, allowing for 2x 1Gbs port link aggregation in the worse case, home routers just don't come with the right port layout--you'd want a router plus a 2.5Gbs switch. What a mess.
