Title: Vivo X80 Pro smartphone review: Primus camera with huge fingerprint sensor
Post by: Redaktion on September 02, 2022, 12:55:35
Vivo is cooporating closely with Zeiss for the X80 Pro's camera. In addition to the well-known gimbal stabilization, Vivo aims to ensure a particularly natural color reproduction in a flagship-like smartphone that is visually and technically appealing, but not exactly cheap.

I've had this phone for 2 months. It has a spectacular camera (although for video, a lot of options are limited to 1080p) and great hardware but I would not recommend it at all. Battery life is TERRIBLE, I can rarely squeeze more than 4:30-5h out of it (with the display set at 2400x1800 and refresh rate at 60Hz).

Functouch OS is quite buggy (notifications sometimes don't work for certain apps, the overly aggressive power management doesn't play well with certain apps, there's considerable visual lag when transitioning between apps, defeating the purpose of 120Hz displays, etc) and has an interface that feels pretty dated; the phone heats up BIG TIME not only with CPU-demanding tasks but also networking (cellular and WiFi); network activity chews through the battery at an alarming rate and Vivo's customer service is terrible.

If reviewers actually used this phone as their daily driver for a couple of weeks they'd quickly realize that it's not a polished enough package to warrant its price tag and is far from providing the smooth, bug-free experience a top-end phone this price should offer. I decided to give it a chance but seriously regret not returning it.
