Title: Apple Vision Pro touted to herald new era of "spatial computing" powered by visionOS
Post by: Redaktion on June 06, 2023, 00:00:52
Mixed reality by Apple has finally made its long-awaited global debut at WWDC 2023. The Cupertino behemoth claims to have built a potentially definitive take on the technology from the ground up, resulting in a 3D experience now backed to impose macOS-like UI features on real life as much as possible. On that note, the headset is also rated to switch to completely immersion for  entertainment purposes instead.

Lol, easily the most retarded gimmick recently, but it's coming from Apple so it's not really surprising at all.

Why such negativity? It's basically a proof of concept, and a tool for companies that will make apps for the next generation of this product. Is it too expensive? Sure, though maybe not when compared to a MacBook Pro + two Apple monitors. If these goggles are comfortable enough for whole-day wear and can indeed replace any number of monitors of any size without added vision fatigue, then they just need to drop in price to the level of a MacBook Pro to win a large market.

In the meantime, though, I'll stick to my PC.
