Amazon wants to create quantum networks with artificial diamonds

The goal is to create faster and more secure networks spanning wider areas with the aid of lab-grown diamonds. Amazon will work with De Beer's Element Six division to produce diamonds through a technique called chemical vapor deposition, which emulates the natural impurities forming around diamonds. These impurities can work as repeaters in a quantum network.
