Title: Acer and Asus laptop price hikes incoming
Post by: Redaktion on March 30, 2021, 12:25:20
A report from a Taiwanese media site has revealed that both Acer and Asus appear to be planning on implementing price hikes on their popular laptop ranges. The continuing high demand for notebooks and mobile workstations has led to a situation where Acer and Asus are likely to increase product prices in the second quarter of 2021.

Our business analysts say otherwise. Prices to begin normalizing March 1st, 2021, return to pre-Covid mid-August (I think?).
Acer has just made available a ton of new, low-end Aspire 1's and 3's, featuring Elkhart Lake silicon. All sub-$449.
ASUS have shipped us a large crate with E410 (Gemini Lake-R). This design is quite sophisticated, despite costing around $329. Also, fresh batches of budget VivoBook Flip's ($526), also ExpertBook P1's ($433). Mostly older chassis', but manufactured in March, 2021, OS image 20H1 with 2021 updates.

For us to order them, they would first need to be AVAILABLE !!!
I'm talking about all the Tiger Lake / Cezanne stuff.

Maybe manufacturers should rather think about APOLOGIZING for all the delay, instead of rising prices. Just sayin'.

I dont think Dell/Lenovo will raise their prices, that would bring upon them unnecesary backslash, and they are still selling a lot of units, because it seems they did manage to get enough supply for their needs.

Asus is launching the 2021 TUF A15 in India but with the same crappy panel from last year, and not the 100% sRGB 244 Hz panel. No purchase if that's the case.
