Title: Podium spot thanks to OLED: Gigabyte Aero 15 XB
Post by: Redaktion on May 16, 2020, 02:20:28
The OLED version of the Gigabyte Aero 15 fights its way into the top 3 of the light and compact gaming laptops. The device is also very interesting for creators.

Is the 1080p screen any good? Haven't seen any reviews for that yet.

"Screen flickering / PWM detected   60 Hz   ≤ 80 % brightness setting"

This panel is so BAD for eyes.

Besides with time some OS GUI elements will burn on screen (OLED isn't good for PC)

Burn-in is unlikely with current technology. But 60Hz PWM isn't just bad, it's absolutely unusable and outweighs any pros.

But a glossy screen and PWM kill all desire for this laptop.

I concur on the PWM comments, it's an instant no-go for some of us. Maybe notebookcheck should consider exposing this parameter more in the header of reviews.

It's a good quality 144 Hz panel, similar to those used in most high end gaming laptops with good response times and colours
