Hey, I'm sorry to be so sure about this, but 2160x3840 is definitely not 16:10, but the all-too-traditional 16:9.
Can you tell me if this laptop is specc'd with a full speed Thunderbolt 3 port, with 4 PCIe lanes?
I have just changed my plans to buy the Dell XPS 9560 because, yet again, they have only allocated 2 PCIe lanes to the Thunderbolt 3 port, which renders E-GPUs severely limited to 20Gbps bandwidth.

Well, this is promising unless configurations cannot be chosen, not catering only for game crowd but also to others that need power and good heat dissipation going to components that matter for 3D, Video editing etc...
Interesting that Acer is also innovating with inverse fan capability.
kudos also for bigger battery.
I 'll probably will not buy a laptop this year, but for next year this news put Acer in consideration if configurations can be chosen. Example: i don't care for fingerprint reader and other stuff.
For the final review, along with TB3 testing, please also see if there are any issues with using Nvidia Optimus. As a programmer, this laptop appeals to me greatly. It'd be nice to turn off the discrete card (or rather, switch to the Intel gpu) to give a bit more battery life when coding.

The GTX 10-series graphics cards does not have Optimus technology, so you cannot completely turn it off. However, on low loads, I think it should be fairly energy-saving.
I'm extremely disappointed with the V17 Nitro series. The build quality is very poor (parts break off very easily) and both me and my friend (he also has a v17 with slightly better specs) have been having severe problems with hardware failure after just over a year of using it.
Biggest problem is the electricity leaks. I often get shocked when I touch my laptop chassis, and in general some of it is always leaking to the speakers which in turn makes them constantly emit a very loud static noise. (other problems include the WiFi card and GPU randomly switching off and screen flickering).
The warranty on Acer Aspire notebooks is 1 year by the way, not 2 years.

I've got same problem with static discharges on my old 15" V Nitro.
From time to time up to 2-3 times in an hour you've got a jolt of electricity into your wrists. Slightly painful and very annoying! Got to return that laptop.
It's a shame this issue persists in newest laptops.
