Post by: Redaktion on February 01, 2022, 21:21:57
One of the most affordable NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs is currently discounted on Amazon, which makes the WD Black SN750 SE a perfect deal for PS5 owners and storage-hungry laptop users with an empty M.2 slot.

This was on sale for $94 with amazon 5 pay over time before chrismast but $99 is still a good price.  I have the same question now as then though, how the SN750 SE compares to the western digital blue 570 in the same price range.   I know 'black' typically better than 'blue' but the 570 is a significant upgrade over the blue 550 and the SN750 SE is a downgrade from the SN750.

Hi Dan,
it's true that the WD Blue SN570 and the WD Black SN750 SE have very similar read and write speeds on paper. In a laptop or desktop PC, I doubt anyone would notice the difference between these two SSDs, but only the SN750 SE is a PCIe 4.0 drive that's compatible with the PS5.

Ah so it has a niche on the PS5... but how do the SN750-Se and 570 compare on write cycles / durability?   the blue is better than the green there but is the black 750-se better than the blue 570?

The 1TB version of the SN570 and the SN750 SE are both rated for 600 TBW, so there's no difference in terms of durability between these two SSDs.
