Title: Survey finds 87% of US teenagers own an iPhone, Apple's AirPods remain immensely popular

When it comes to smartphones and headphones, American teenagers apparently prefer products from the dominant Cupertino-based tech behemoth, which has once again performed admirably in a latest youth-focused survey conducted by Piper Sandler.

This really explains why young hires these days seem to lack basic computer skills that were standard from 10-15 years ago.

Dumbest question I've ever been asked was that a client email contained no files.....it was a zip file.

The numbers are so high that they must be statistics. Ask the right people to get the right answers.

This is one of those "statistics are valid within the scope of the thing it's testing" problems. For example, they indicate that the self-reported annual spending of those teens is $2,367 but that 61% of that coming from their parents - given the pricing of iPhones, that seems a bit of a mismatch and suggests they didn't pay for those phones.

It also indicates that these teens spend $264/yr on cosmetics, which again seems odd.

That the iPhone is popular in the US (it's one of the countries where Apple has disproportionate market share along with the UK and Japan), but this report is more a marketing survery than a market survey.
