The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 has secured the top place in AnTuTu's Android smartphone SoC chart for the first half of 2020; however, MediaTek has made a strong showing with three entrants, including the Dimensity 1000+ in second. The Taiwanese company has also pipped its American rival in mobile chip shipment market share in China for Q2 2020.

Pretty much expected the sd865 to beat the d1000+, however, the price of the phones with either chipset really matters here. If phones with 1000+ can come at a cheaper/competitive price, then i can see the it being more worth

Why not compare products in the similar price range, 765G vs D1000+?

Yeah, what I was gonna say too. If they sell this in the premium midrange segment, then as effectively a 855 substitute it's of great value, but have it compete with 865, then the gap gets awkward...would be an interesting comparison with the now infamous Exynos 990 though, they would probably be a relatively close match.
