Xiaomi has issued an important warning about the Redmi Note 8 Pro in regard to the current MIUI 12 global stable beta update rollout. The Chinese OEM is concerned that Redmi Note 8 Pro owners who are not part of the Mi Pilot program may damage their smartphones by installing the MIUI 12 update via another unofficial route.

its simple (cant be flashed trhough settings because probably youre not into mi pilot) so flash via twrp* to update but it should be by your own risk: unlock bootloader, install a twrp for your Android version if is 10 then twrp for 10 otherwise 9 for 9. After flashing twrp wipe dalvik cache, cache and data, install and Reboot. Well, its pretty simple, if you need support, just search in youtube for Konah and you will find...me.
