Post by: Redaktion on November 06, 2019, 23:43:34
Samsung's Developer Conference (SDC) 2019 contained numerous interesting announcements, not the least that Tizen OS for TVs can be ported to third-party devices. In addition, there are now additional developer-friendly facilities for this part of the OEM's ecosystem. They include more granular user opt-outs for ads.

Samsung needs to take care of their own gear and port updates to not so much older Samsung TVs running a Rev or two ago of the OS that they can strip features and operational options that were working just weeks ago from, that made us buy the sets, before making the OS available to others. If they can port to others, they make it available to "Take Care of your Own!"
