Title: MSI GT72VR 6RD Dominator Pro Notebook Review
Post by: Redaktion on September 15, 2016, 09:15:10
Faster performance, cooler temperatures. If size and weight aren't concerns, then the GT72VR is your best bet with GTX 1060 graphics. Surface temperatures and fan noise are both low for a gaming notebook.

I've noticed that most MSI laptops exhibit mild to severe backlight bleeding. They usually have mediocre chassis quality regarding and they carry a higher price premium than most competitors.
You read amazon's users opinions and find a great deal of complaints, more so than in other brands (not talking about the hard number but the proportion of good vs bad reviews).
Yet they consistently get quite positive reviews.
Couldn't such quality issues be weighted in direct correlation to the machine's price as to make the final result more "quality sensitive"?
I also believe durability is more likely going to be an issue in a system exhibiting such undesirable traits right out of the box compared to those that don't (would be nice to have long term tests if possible).
I know there are limitations, as assessing the quality of a model based on just one tested unit and not a statistically compliant sample is not a good measure, but at least maybe it could be a yellow flag (by model polls asking owners how long they had a model like that, and a yes/no to "do you have this issue?" could help)

PS: I'm not stating that the site favors MSI at all, also seen defects as those in other brands that had little influence in the final score. Actually, I think this site is among the best out there and that's why I make this as a constructive criticism.

PS2: sorry for the long post and the language-inaccurate expressions you may find as I'm not a native english speaker

How would one upgrade this laptop from the GTX 1060 to the GTX 1070? Where do you buy the mobile chips?
