Instead of limiting AI-powered processing to image quality improvements, AMD wants to utilize the RDNA 4 inference cores to make games more fun and life-like with better moving characters and more complex pathfinding. Image rendering techniques involving 3D primitives and indirect lighting could also see benefits from the AI treatment.

It's going to take years for this to catch on. Maybe even a decade. It needs to be in all the relevant hardware, so a new console generation at least.
