Title: Fantastical Nintendo Direct hardware and software leak: Switch Pro with 4K support and Nvidia DLSS 2.0 for US$399; Mario Kart 9 and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Past release dates
Post by: Redaktion on January 08, 2021, 13:41:25
An incredibly exciting but almost certainly fake itinerary for an upcoming Nintendo Direct event has been supposedly leaked. Featuring on the fantasy wishlist are details of a Nintendo Switch Pro console at US$399 and a huge list of games, including Mario Kart 9, Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Past.

Title: tensor cores

For DLSS 2.0 you need tensor core in the Switch SoC.
Switch SoC up to now have no tensor cores, they are not Turing or Ampere but Maxwell.
It would really be a surprise if Switch Pro has a iGPU with enough tensor cores for 4K DLSS 2.0
Current Tegra X1 for Switch is Maxwell 256 shaders. 1 Teraflop. no tensor cores.
Impossible to do DLSS 2.0.

The Tegra Xavier has 512 Volta cores and includes Tensor cores. It's likely that if Nintendo were to need a new SoC for the Switch, it would be based on Xavier and vary in some ways (possibly by having only 4 cores)

There's no reason to think that for a Switch Pro, Nintendo would decide to use the Tegra X1 again. That would make no sense, even if they turned it into a 10nm chip or something

So 1st party Nintendo games are soft WARS and 3rd party ones are soft WARES. Spent all that time typing up an imaginary list but didn't even bother to spell check. Idiot!

IMO ray tracing is very un-Nintendo, they may never go for realistic graphics, or at least lag 5-10 years behind the competition in that respect.

Nintendo stopped using the red racetrack logo over 10 years ago.

the whole leak is fake because not only does it have multiple spelling errors but it also uses an old version of the Nintendo logo and also doug bowser basically deconfirmed a switch pro isn't happening

Who writes dates as mmddyyyy?  Most companies would use yyyymmdd or ddmmyyyy. So then this nintendo direct is for November 1 2021. That's why it didn't happen on Jan 11....
I'm joking btw. Looks fake.
