Title: Lenovo Yoga C930-13IKB (i5-8250U, FHD) Convertible Review
Post by: Redaktion on October 23, 2018, 22:41:51
For the first time ever Lenovo placed the speakers inside a convertible's hinges. The display supports Dolby Vision, and should thus offer additional value, at least on paper. Apart from the the C930 is equipped with well-known hardware inside a good-looking case. Find out in our extensive review whether or not the C930 is worth considering.

Battery is getting cut down every year. Fatal move because battery is what sets a laptop apart from a desktop. Hence it is and will always be the most valued element of portability.
2016 - Yoga 910: 78 Wh
2017 - Yoga 920: 70 Wh
2018 - Yoga C930: 60 Wh

In comparison HP Spectre x360 13 and Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 are smaller but pack the same 60 Wh capacity and both are better optimized for longer runtimes in UHD SKUs.

Screen choices are also incredibly lackluster and substandard especially for a lineup with a single flagship model. Even business laptops are competing hard to offer better screens up to 700 nits (HP EliteBook), perfect contrast (OLED Thinkpad), and 100% ARGB (everybody).

And despite throttling being an industry getaway practice, laptops like XPS 13 and T480s still manages decent sustained performance. The results uncovered by this review are barely acceptable.

Lenovo innovation in the Yoga's audio is indeed welcome and deserves to be recognized. But they should get their priorities straight.

4k version does not support HDR either. In windows settings it only says standard dynamic range. False advertisement detected!

Horrible keyboard, Horrible I/O, throttling on base SKU, hardly adequate display that's not even factory calibrated and falsely claims HDR capability.

That "Soundbar hinge" I honestly doubt are better than $40 wireless speakers. I'd like spend money on a laptop, not just its speakers.

How could this even be considered "high-priced premium"?
At 1500 EUR it reads more like an overpriced laptop masquerading as a brand flagship. This is their most expensive ultrabook isn't it?

Or have I missed the obvious?

LENOVO IS A VERY BAD LAPTOP!

I bought one for €2000 just 3 years ago. The battery dies twice and now the motherboard just died.
They told me i can repair it for €1600
