Phoronix has done a performance comparison of the AMD Threadripper 2990WX in Windows 10 Pro and Linux and the results show Threadripper numbers significantly lower under Windows 10 Pro than in Linux. In some tests such as 7-Zip Compression, the Threadripper 2990WX posted almost 58% higher scores in Linux compared to Windows 10 Pro implying that Linux is a better OS of choice when testing high core count CPUs.

Amazing. After 3 days of copy paste reviews we find a real review from a guy who understand the real purpose of 2990WX. Great!
I would suggest that for many years, Itel's cpus were the ones to which Windows was designed to work with, and to favor.
Linux does not, in it's scheduling algorithms or other designs, prefer one processor over another. Linux uses the best algorithm of which there are very few, Equally fair, deadline are two that I name.
Taskswitching algorithms with Linux have been heavily optimised and no wasted instructions are therein.
That could be why Linux throughput is better.
How did you get Clear Linux to install? On my Threadripper2, I keep getting "CPU does not support MWAIT" and it just hangs.
