Estimated and peak temperatures for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S that have been posted on Twitter allege that Sony's next-gen console will be the hottest device out of the three. According to the source, the PS5 could even reach a peak temperature of 65 °C/149 °F.

Quote65 °C
This is nothing. CPU/GPU are chilling and feel super comfy at 65 °C.
According to Tom down the road their both going to be so hot the moon will explode.. you heard it here first folks. 👍
I'm more concerned about that liquid metal lifespan over thermal paste than anything, though.
Why? It's liquid metal. Metal cannot dry-out. Only pump out, as opposed to thermal pastes which are known to dry.
I've had alienware 17 R(5) 2013 with LM and after 5 years of usage it's still there. Same goes for my 17R5 from 2018.
Unconfirmed reports?
So basically fake news like most of your articles 😂
Only people that would have access to ps5 is sony
I'm no expert but I think this is heat that the heatsink has collected and that the console is pumping away. I reckon the components inside are cooler than that..hopefully.
Those temperatures are not even remotely close to being high, over 90 would be concerning.
This doesn't contradict early reports that the Xbox runs 'hotter'. The bin design is more open to contact so you would perceive it to be hotter to touch. The directs heat away from contact points so you think it runs cooler.
But being in the 60-70 degree range is perfect fine.
so, AMD is putting their hardware on a timer by shipping something other than a AIO stock cooler with their CPUs? Both they and NV are forcing people into an upgrade cycle by setting their GPUs to have a target temperature in the 70s-80s?
@Sukhoi
What are you talking about?! Those cpu and gpu temperatures are perfectly fine, besides it's up to the console manufacturers to keep them cool, not AMD.
It's just another article about which console is "better".
30 days before release and Sony still hasn't sent out units to reviewers and tech channels. It's quite obvious they're hiding something LOL
Yea maybe, but it's getting cooled.
Xbox units reportedly are very hot to the hand.
This isn't even good fake news. 60-70c is as good as it gets for air cooled GPU/ CPU.
Definitely telling google not to show me any more stuff from this site.
65 is just ticking over inside a PC, after seeing the size of that ps5 heatsink and fan, I doubt 65 will make the ps5 sweat too much.
So far as I can tell no xbox series x has been tested with an actual next gen game. Just backwards compatible games. The ps5 was using Astros playroom and godfall using the entire ps5. So yeah stands to reason itd run a little hotter. Got less then 60 days till we know for sure whats what.
Those temps are perfectly fine and with those high clockspeeds of the ps5 those temps are good. I would've been scared if they said ps5's running 85c.
My pc runs hotter so that's great
How could ps5 reaches 65° with those cooling systems? I can't imagine the fps drops.
Fan boys for any system is a bunch of dickhead grow the f*** up assholes.
People need to realize that these are decently powerful components i would be more worried if there wasn't hot air coming out because that just means the cooling system isn't doing its job and keeping the heat in the system and on the chip
My pc when gaming and rendering runs a constant 75 degs on both cpu and gpu and ive been using it for 3 years everyday. Still alive :p
That would be very cool running, so certainly nothing to complain about. Though really I must say these next gen consoles can't come up with much to talk about, can they? I mean wow, there's not much to speak of when it comes to genuine graphical improvement is there? I can't be the only one noticing this. It's almost like political talk.
I mean, of course the ps5 runs hotter. Its simple thermodynamics.
Xbox Series X power supply wattage = 300w
PS5 power supply wattage = 350w
@Right
Oh man, you should really learn, what fake news and clickbaits really are. xD
Where is this here fake news?
Go back to school. :D
This is thr first im hearing of the ps5 overheating....and i read another article that said they even tried to get it to overheat by using heat lamps and just hot rooms in general and the thin lg stayed cool. Could b a defective one tbh wont know til they come out
Ha, what a joke. If you think 65 Degrees is hot, you should see my laptop when i try to game on it... before I changed its thermal paste, it averaged at 99 degrees while gaming. Even after using legitimate thermal paste, it averages around 85 degrees while gaming... and this gaming is csgo lol...
My farts are warmer
As long as it works as it should, why care, they got it warmer than xbox few gen now and look at those sales..
65 degrees Celsius isn't even considered hot as far as console/PC components are concerned. Source in question even notes that the Series X runs as hot as 62 degrees Celsius as well.
Not sure what the agenda of this article is, but attempting to say that the PS5 would overheat based on those measurements is baseless.
Really because youtubers who got their hands on the XBSX and PS5 said the PS5 runs cooler than the XBSX.
I'm going to go with those people who have had their hands on the machines not an article written by a seemingly biased writer with no actual solid sources and evidence..
Lies anything to make the xbus look better huh go to these lengths
Yeah OK..! I'll believe it when it's confirmed.. How convenient a report right after we hear that the Xsx runs hotter than the sun.. Smh.. That's called damage control but we'll see..
Yeah so 65 deg is still fine, computer parts are good to 75 deg and 85 deg peak
They did say it would be HOT!!! The architecture of the ps5 was made to fully utilize all components at consistent maximum outputs so this isn't too surprising.
So which is it. I just read the other day that the XBSX Runs hotter than the PS5. Someone's posting BS.
Duhhhh PS5 GPU runs at a much higher clock speed
fake news. Japanese youtubers who tested the ps5 for hours reported that besides being silent, the console doesn't heat up, so deal with It xtard
That's not even hot. Most desktops run at 70 or 80 degrees most times. GET OUT OF HERE FAKE NEWS
