Title: Asus ROG Zephyrus M16: a retailer lists what appears to be an entry-level version of the new gaming laptop
Post by: Redaktion on May 30, 2021, 18:34:49
A Czech webstore now offers what is claimed as the recently-launched Asus ROG Zephyrus M16; then again, the new listing contains specs that are considerable downgrades on what the OEM announced while debuting this machine. For example, this apparent M16 leak involves the Core i7-11800H processor, as opposed to the i9-11900H on official product pages.

1800 for this downgraded version seems... a bit high no ? I think it's a bit too expensive.

i think it's because laptop price in Europe is generally more expensive than in the USA. i'd like to see the price in USA, i'll get this laptop if it's only $100-200 more expensive than the g15.

It's normal that not all configurations are available everywhere. The cheapest configurations are often not available in richer countries and the most expensive configurations are conversely often not available in poorer countries. This configuration might never make it to the US.

The cheapest MacBook Air costs over $1400. The 8/ 512 version with 8 CU GPU is over $1800 (roughly as much as this thing). For some perspective.

Which country do you live in? The MacBook Air starts at $999 in the US. And the higher tier model starts at $1249.

Mironet is a Czech store. So, those are Czech prices for MBA. Using exchange rate at the time of writing. What were you expecting?

Germany and other states in the EU will have similar prices. There might be discrepancies due to exchange rate drift since not all of them use euro. For example, 512 GB storage upgrade for the base MBA cost $200. In Germany, it's €230 which is currently $280. In the Czech republic, it's $287.

Sorry for my short-sightedness. Should've done my research first.
