Ich verstehe den Sinn der Glas-Gehäuse nicht. Glas ist bruchempfindlicher, schwerer und mindert die Empfangsqualität der integrierten Antennen.

Sighs.

Nintendo is about to release a portable device next year, which is capable of Gigabit transfers on expansion slot for only $400 but we're supposed to be grateful that Sony is still releasing phones with microSD readers capable of Mb transfer rates for $1200+?

Just go back to sleep, Sony mobile division.

Quote from: O'Connell on May 03, 2024, 20:14:38will be in par w/ GTX 1080 for 40CU maybe RTX 2070super (and here i'm optimistic)

I'd say this is a pretty reasonable take. Desktop RTX 2070 Super is roughly RX 6600 (desktop) performance I think, which is so far what all the rumors for strix halo indicate.

And yeah, I remember those RTX 3060 equivalent rumours too which gave no indication of desktop or mobile variant and were wildly wrong (ended up being GTX 1060 mobile at best instead). Probably best to ignore (AMD) leaks until something is actually released.

I do wonder what strix point's 50%+ of a mobile GTX 1060 / Radeon 780M would land up. Would that be as fast as mobile GTX 1070 / RTX 2060 / RTX 3050 ?

Unfortunately, the difference between a high powered RTX 3050 desktop and mobile RTX low power laptop is kinda huge. So any interest regular strix point just kinda died for me even for a just a x86 handheld, that wouldn't be quite enough for me.

Rather get a qcomm or arm SoC if all I'm getting mobile RTX 3050 perf. Game gpu requirements have just exploded too much recently thanks to current gen consoles to warrant anything less. (Than a RTX 2070 super desktop, that is)

I think before they start ditching anything (cpu or gpu wise), they first need to developed something competitive (on a performance per watt basis) first, which they've thus far failed to do in the past 13+ years or so.

Am no expert, but wouldn't it easier to start with cpu first instead of cpu? If you build a fast cpu, you really don't need to worry about compatibility as long as it meets the isa spec. But for gpu even if you meet the graphic api spec, many games just won't run well because they were just optimized for specific pipelines and drivers in mind. Which I believe why intel is struggling so much atm despite the hardware being not that bad?

Perhaps Nintendo are making such changes because even though the switch 2 won't be able to, maybe they're already thinking about a switch 3 or 4 and how it'll be able to boost fps that high in older backward compatible games?

Idk seems more forward thinking on their part.

Quote from: Pooh Sheisty on Yesterday at 12:31:31In contrast my 1998 Honda Odyssey cost me $3000 years ago and does the exact same thing, and I dont need to pay $1000 to get an extra 5mpg or other scam features.

You are talking about cost of a used car, new cars are always way more expensive than used, hence why most car sales are used cars and not new

But the cost to refuel is expensive, and that anywhere doesn't include home which I don't know about you but most people's most common destination is home
