Title: ScreenPad 2.0 Debut: Asus VivoBook S15 S532FL Laptop Review
Post by: Redaktion on July 23, 2019, 00:34:03
Asus' second stab at a touchscreen-touchpad hybrid is head and shoulders above the first generation ScreenPad on last year's ZenBook Pro 15 UX580 in terms of usability and display quality. A few hurdles remain including the impact on battery life, grainy matte overlay, and poor viewing angles.

Screenpad is a useless gimmick.   I would much rather have a super smooth glass like regular touchpad.  The larger size is possibly attractive, if it doesn't interfere with typing.

The gimped numpad should be dropped asap Asus.  Extra narrow number keys?  Are you expecting 10 year olds to be the users?  Just get rid of this useless gimmick as well.  Center the keyboard and the touchpad.

Silver keys?  Fix that as well.  Go back to black.

And while I'm ranting about all that is wrong with this laptop, I consider the inclusion of a weak graphics card to be a pointless gimmick as well.  It really doesn't add much speed, but does add a fair bit of heat and noise, not to mention draining the battery faster.  I guess I could say the same about the touchpad.  Extra heat, extra battery drain.
