Huawei might be on its way to becoming the world's second-largest smartphone maker, but the latest move made by the Chinese brand might be a costly one in the long run. The EMUI 9.0 update will come without access to third-party launchers, although this limitation will only be applied in China in the beginning.

Mate 20 pro owner here, for less than one month
Switched to Nova Launcher prime as EMUI´s default launcher is more limited and impractical than Samsung´s (switched from an S9+), and becomes choppy every now and then.
If EMUI doesn´t get better features and performance, and they decide to ban access to 3rd party launchers globally, I´ll feel compelled to switch back to another brand as soon as possible.
They could also make Face recognition work better, more like in Apple´s XS Max. I don´t know why sites keep saying Huawei´s implementation is flawless. Very good, it is, but not excellent and certainly not flawless
What's that special about Nova that makes so many people use it? Have you tried Xiaomi's Poco Launcher? It's a shame that Huawei does not launch at least a few Android One handsets...
