An interesting Nintendo Switch 2 dev kit substitute has been put together by the popular YouTuber Austin Evans to see what kind of performance a next-gen Switch console could potentially offer. Evans used an Nvidia Jetson Orin NX 16 GB kit for benchmarking and then built a "Switch 2" PC to replicate the performance in gaming tests.

Well yeah of course $900 hardware will deliver. That however is FAR off the target price for a Switch 2. Nintendo isn't exactly known for using cutting edge hardware or nodes.

The price alone makes this a no.

The success of their platform is a combination of utility, the software, and the price.  If you nix the price to cater to gamers wanting more power, you alienate most of your consumer base.

This HAS to be taken into account.  It's especially always been true when it comes to handhelds.

Yea and no, PC handhelds are booming right now and I'm not talking about the steam deck. They are $800+.
