Title: Dell confirms that fixing S3 sleep is next on the agenda for the XPS 15 9570
Post by: Redaktion on May 07, 2019, 23:02:41
Further to its backtrack last month, Dell has now confirmed that it is focussing its efforts on addressing S3 sleep mode for the XPS 15 9570. The company removed the mode over a year ago with the release of BIOS 1.3.0.

I simply do not understand why Dell has been so slow to respond to these issues.

Before I fully understood Sleep mode on my 9570 I nearly fried my car.   The battery went ultra hot while it was in my backpack in the back seat.  Why the things didn't combust is a miracle.

Today it is either On or Off

They have to as it was there when I bought this pc. They can't get rid of features later on as this could be marketing fraud. (On the specs it has this feature in the first place and then, later on, removed) Technically at the moment everyone with 9570 could send theirs back and ask for a refund.

How do you deal with that issue with your xps guys? When I pull it out of my backpack for work it always is hot.

You keep commenting on this but to date ... STILL nothing!

Dell clearly has NO intention to fix this. Stop making excuses for them.

You must be on their payroll or super patient.

We all paid good money so it is totally INEXCUSABLE that something as fundamental as sleep mode is not functioning properly.

I am within my 30 day return window for the i7 4k UHD model. - The new Macbook Pro 15inch 8core seems suddenly mighty tempting.

Feel free to pass this on to Dell.

Best Regards
