Author starts with " However, Lenovo also offers an AMD model and we want to find out which one is the better choice.' and compares the CB R15 scores between this new 16" and the smaller 14" AMD based version. But then does not compare them again in terms of idle characteristics or battery life since they both use an 84 WHr battery. Wi-fi test AMD loses by 5% but in terms of video playback, the AMD version outlasted this Intel MTL version by 75 minutes. and that is with a higher pixel density OLED display. Also, AMD had about 2 W of lower idle power consumption.

If you are going to compare them, compare them completely. Don't mislead the reader writing things like " In our WLAN test with an adapted brightness of 150 cd/m² (.....) and a 60-Hz refresh rate, the test device managed 12:36 hours (11:28 hours at 120 Hz) and a good 09:46 hours at full brightness (08:11 hours at 120 Hz). In the video test at 150 cd/m², the new Meteor Lake chips' advantage again became apparent and we noted just under 16 hours." when the competitor is just as good if not better even with a more power hungry OLED display.

Gut, dass es mal jemand sagt. Leider ist das in so ziemlich jedem Artikel überall falsch geschrieben. Wenn ich das alles korrigieren wollte, käme ich gar nicht hinterher.

Quote from: Hotz on Today at 17:54:08And Windows 10 wasn't great either at the beginning.
It is still extremely bad as an OS, everyone has just accepted it. Is there competition and choice?

What if there are still nonpartisan, independent and principled judges in the United States who value true freedom of speech? ;)

It certainly sounds like fantasy. Something like the Homeric laughter of any adult when he looks at Themis's article with his eyes closed...

News / Re: US restricts Intel and Qua...

For the United States, it is important not to lose significantly in profits and not increase geopolitical risks too much. Therefore, they delayed these dates as much as possible. Much the same as the US and EU cynically prolonging "sanctions" against Russia that do not actually work, although all this could have been done at once at the beginning of March 2022. But then the US/EU would have lost too much. And the goal of the war in Ukraine is completely different from what official propaganda is broadcasting. And the blood of Ukrainians (or someone else in the next artificially created conflict) - who cares about these lives there on the "Olympus"? Consumable biomaterial. Women are still giving birth. According to official statistics, the planet's population is 60-75 million every year. That's the size of 6-7 new cities the size of NYC EVERY year! Against this background, human lives are worth less and less in this world and the price continues to fall. But dividing spheres of influence and increasing their slaveholding territories is an ancient sport of the ruling elite with the hands and lives of sheep...

Everyone is preparing for a new stage of escalation, because... the excess population must be forcibly reduced, with the destruction of the general division of labor and the division of the world into concentration camp zones. Nobody needs pensioners and are complete ballast for the new "wonderful" world, and besides, this will help relieve debts owed to them.

By the way, in Ukraine they just signed a law on the mobilization of criminals in prison for war, just like in Russia - naturally, those in prison (even murderers) will be forced to go to the slaughterhouse, although some of those in prison naively hope that they will be able to pay off in parts by giving a bribe to the commanders so that they would not be sent to the front line into a meat grinder. But most of those in prison immediately declared, as the Ukrainian press writes, that they would not go to war without coercion. With some differences, this is the same immoral topic. Before this, last week, Ukraine officially notified the European Union that it was withdrawing from the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms due to martial law, although Ukraine did not even officially declare war on Russia... In just over 2 years, Ukraine has turned completely into a totalitarian and completely dependent a country with monstrous corruption, where men have no rights at all, they are slaves, just like in Russia, if they do not have influence or a lot of money to escape from there by buying false certificates or paying bribes to border guards. And they either run or hide and stop working.

China is big and it will fall with a great roar in the next 10-15 years (and maybe even earlier) and of course its ruling kleptocracy will want to divert the anger of the local society somewhere outside its circle of parasites, when the standard of living rapidly goes downhill for hundreds millions of Chinese. Therefore, a new, even more terrible massacre cannot be avoided, especially since the same thing is generally happening in the USA and the EU and other countries. Everyone is interested in global carnage, although they say the opposite...

Probably the Chinese against this background, if the destructive processes in their society are not too fleeting, will be able to develop, in some part, independent technologies (this is of course good for global competition and the general development of civilization), but they hardly have a chance to become technological leader, even to catch up with the West before serious social problems begin. After all, the key problem in China is the suppression of dissent and this suppression of thinking begins in nurseries and continues in schools with formulaic education and then in higher education institutions. Where can they get free-thinking, highly developed scientists against such a background? There is practically no chance. And they themselves officially admit that their problems have long been not about money, but about the presence of the necessary layer of human capital. Where will they get it from in a totalitarian regime? Against this background, the attempt at "import substitution" in Russia is even more comical and futile.
