Title: Dell XPS 15 9510 gets a 3.5K OLED touch option along with ray tracing and DLSS support thanks to RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPUs
Post by: Redaktion on May 11, 2021, 13:02:00
The Dell XPS 15 9510 is now official and offers internal upgrades to Intel Tiger Lake-H CPUs and NVIDIA RTX 3050/3050 Ti Laptop GPU options. Dell hasn't changed many aspects of the design with the only notable changes being the availability of a 3.5K OLED display option and Thunderbolt 4 ports.

I do not like Intel and NVIDIA. When DELL will release AMD's CPU and GPU model?

"Dell says that a total of 55 W of power is available in the 18 mm thin chassis"
This is a little disappointing. Zephyrus M16 is not much larger and can cool 125W combined

Euhhhhh never ? When i see the small amount of premium laptop with AMD, I kind of think there is a problem somewhere which is way beyond us (exclusivity, money, implementation requiring a complete redesign).
I absolutely hate this, but I guess it won't change anytime soon.

This 16:10 3.5K OLED panel is the same Samsung-made panel used in 2021 Mi Notebook Pro 15.

I found a nice review of the OLED in Youtube, language is Chinese but it has proper English subtitles. Not allowed to post links so search youtube with: 【Biba】3K OLED!Xiaomi Pro 15 2021 Review

Meanwhile, I am a bit baffled why Samsung is only using 16:9 FHD OLED panels for their own Galaxy Book Pro laptops. Maybe they are saving them for the next generation?

Meanwhile, we will wait for review from Notebookcheck.

Uh since when does anything sub-1000nits support Dolby Vision? Are they getting so greedy on the licensing they're allowing displays less than half as bright as originally required?

Lol! The previous 2020, 9500 version with 10th gen CPUs & GTX GPUs throttled horribly so none of these 2021 upgrades are going to make any performance difference unless they've worked out a new cooling solution. 86w battery suggests not. The new Inspiron 16 plus has RTX 3060 options and 130w battery as well as 16:10 & Thunderbolt etc. Will likely outperform it's much more expensive stablemate. Even the MSi M15 Creator will outperform this, never mind the Z16.

130W is the power adapter specs, not the battery. The battery spec is measured in Wh not W.
