The 2.4-pound Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2019) is now official in China and comes with Harman Kardon audio with DTS surround, fast charging, and more. The starting price (in China) is the equivalent of US$536 and this amount would get you the model with Intel Core m3-8100Y/4 GB RAM/128 GB storage.

I bought a Dell XPS 1330 laptop with 4Gb of RAM and 250 Gb storage over 10 years ago (still working btw), so what has changed in 10 years? Still 4Gb and 250 Gb (sometimes twice less) storage...

Sadly, yes - at least for now.
@Georgiy: I still own and sometimes use an old Asus laptop with 4 GB of memory and 320 GB HDD. However, there's no comparison between what we got back then and what can be obtained right now in a portable in terms of internal storage speed. There's no point in comparing slow 4500 rpm or 5400 rpm hard drives with today's SSDs.

Can't wait to get the 8GB version if the battery life is better than my current first gen Air - it is disappointing, about 4-5 hours for my current workload and 4GB is not enough for Visual Studio 17.
Otherwise it's great, I added a 512 WD black nvme ssd, fanless/silent, good display, fast and it even survived the beach :)
