Title: Razer Blade Pro 2017 (i7-7820HK, GTX 1080, 4K) Laptop Review

Slim at any cost. Razer's Blade Pro is one of the most powerful gaming laptops in the world, and simultaneously one of the thinnest. It was to be expected that this combination would lead to high temperatures and loud background noise. Just how bad is it? Our review reveals the answer.

Based on what I've read, it seems that the biggest issue with the previous Blades has been reliability.  The price you pay for this Blade really makes you regret the purchase should it become unreliable just outside of its short warranty.

I can't imagine paying the asking price for one of these and expect a short few years of use out of it.

Hej Florian,
Thank you for this excellent review. Sounds like an excellent device despite its shortcomings, such as the screen quality. I am planning on getting this model, I know it is a bit outdated, I want to use this for learning fastai and some design work taking advantage of its wonderful GPU. As you pointed out, the screen poses some annoyance. I kindly wanted to ask you a question, can I upgrade the screen, given that it has a 40 pin eDP connection, to the 120MHz 4K AOU panel, which is used in the 2019 pro model?
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Hello,

I have this laptop [Razer Blade Pro (2017) 4k] and was wondering when you took it apart, if you noticed the motherboard by chance having two hidden slots for RAM maybe on the other side of the motherboard?

The reason I ask is that the Task Manager states 2 of 4 slots used.

I use this laptop for work doing real-time photo-realistic rendering while I design and would love to add more RAM if possible.

Thanks
