Leaker claims Mortal Kombat 1 is the title of the next MK game launching this year

Even though Ed Boon and WB's CEO specifically mentioned that Mortal Kombat 12 will be the title of the next MK game, it looks like this is no longer the case. According to Twitter leak, the title has been changed to Mortal Kombat 1 and it will be launched this year for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Nintendo Switch.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the hour hand stay on the 12 while the minute hand jumped from 11 to 1?


Couldn't it symbolize a potential release date... like 12/05?

Otherwise, I suppose it could be titled MK1 but that seems rather generic and uneventful for a 12th installment in an iconic franchise.
