Apple's latest iMac is effectively a monitor with an entire computer packed into it, and thus technically only needs a keyboard to work. Now, the Cupertino giant has patented a new device that is effectively the other way around. Therefore, it may soon pitch this Mac/Magic Keyboard as a new bring-your-own-display device that could be marketed as the most retro revolution in portable desktop technology ever.

Raspberry Pi 400 says hi :)
Patent should be rejected.
I doubt they would go Apple II retro... but it would be cool for nostalgia sake... I think what they are looking at here is to replace the Mac Mini. The new M1 macs don't have a lot in them... no reason you can't put a M1 mac guts into a slim apple keyboard case and remove one more piece of clutter from the desk. It looks like it would be powered by a single usb-c... likely from a monitor that would also house additional ports... making this 'keyboard' a portable mac too... carry it anywhere you have a monitor and your good to go.
