India could finally get its first Apple Store in the near future. Tim Cook discussed this idea at a recent investor meeting. The store will likely be located in Mumbai, and is expected to be operational by 2021.

One store won't help much with their ludicrous repair and warranty policies. At the moment, if your iPhone gets damaged or fails while you're in India, your only choice for getting it repaired is to go 3rd party, get unofficial parts and invalidate your warranty. This would add the extra option of "travel hundreds of miles for an official repair".
They really need to sort out allowing 3rd parties to access official parts.
