According to ClockworkPi, the DevTerm will be delivered imminently, despite months of delays. The company has now demonstrated its portable Raspberry Pi and thermal printer in greater detail, too.

The whole device seems silly. What's up with the weird aspect ratio and the keyboard? Besides, one of the key features of a handheld is a sleep mode, which RPi doesn't have, as far as I know.

It's meant to be a throwback to a TRS model 100 and its lookalikes, where back then the screen is wide, hence the look of this thing. Also note that on the website they give other options too beside CM3 compute module, so there's more option than just sitting with RPi's limitation.

Honestly though, this is for a niche community and I bet they will welcome a device such as this. If you don't find any merit upon the existence of this device, then you simply have no use for it and would find it silly. Others may think otherwise though.
