Title: Apple's AirTag raise child safety concerns over user removable batteries
Post by: Redaktion on May 04, 2021, 13:00:39
Apple's AirTag location trackers have been a long time coming but their launch isn't going as smoothly as the company would like. Australian retailer Officeworks has pulled the product from its store shelves over child safety concerns that its user replaceable battery could be too easily removed.

This is either Apple looking into introducing a literal consumable tag or Australia is more full of morons than I thought.

Read some stories about children who have died from these batteries. It is an awful way to die.

Apple's mechanism may or may not be sufficient to stop children accidentally ingesting these batteries, but either way, I'm really glad my government actualy cares about consumer safety in this way.
