Title: Xiaomi reveals the Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K: Short-focus projection for up to 150-inch large screens priced at 14,999 yuan (US$2,121)

The Xiaomi Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K has been unveiled, bringing 4K resolution and high brightness to up to 150-inch screens. The Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K has a normal listed price of 14,999 yuan (US$2,121) but is on offer during the 618 shopping festival at a price of 12,999 yuan (US$1,838).

The smart features and speakers should be eliminated since externals are better, the unit could be smaller and the startup time shorter.

I believe this has HDMI 2.0 inputs.  That's too bad, because there is no way I am laying down $2000 US in 2020 for something that does NOT have HDMI 2.1. Hopefully I'm wrong about this, and they made the wise decision to use HDMI 2.1 inputs.

I bought the projector and it failed within 3 months.
The main flex cable was touching the upper part of the projector's housing and was damaged.
There is no way to fix it since I bought it from China.
Disappointed

I'm guessing disappointed in yourself. If you hadn't gambled with dodgy china imports and you had bought it locally, you would have been covered by warranty.
