Title: BMAX MaxBook Y11 H1M6 Convertible Review
Post by: Redaktion on March 28, 2020, 17:40:19
An aluminum chassis, a 360-degree hinge, an IPS touchscreen, passive cooling, a 256-GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM for less than 300 Euros (~$335) sounds promising. Find out in this in-depth review, which compromises have to be made with the small 11.6-inch laptop.

You have suprised me with that review Notebookcheck. I am thinking about buying a secondary laptop just for office work and I am looking on BMAX brand but on Y13 probably, you should check that model, it's much better. It's the best Gemini Lake laptop according to Techtablets (a guy who honestly reviews cheap laptops, tablets and phones).

It has backlit keyboard which I'm missing on 11" (using it as a semi-tablet usually at night to browse news). And pretty much all of BMAX devices share the same core N4100 design so it won't differ that much. Like the battery on my 11" isn't bad and it looks like actual performance is highly RNG per unit.

received it from aliexpress monday (n4120 version, 276E shipped from Spain)

archlinux (archman xfce variant) seems to work fine except I had to play a little with  hdajackretask (adding some "funny" lfe speakers ...) to make the speakers work (but the sound is quite loud as it can be pushed to 150% ;) )

Great review - many thanks.
I bought a BMAX Y11 and it is great in many ways.
However, the internal clock keeps stopping (even while the nachine is in use). I can sync it, but then it will stop again when I put the machine to sleep or turn it off.

I have tried all sorts of settings and resetting the time service - nothing works. I think it must need a new CMOS battery. So I took the cover off the back - and I cannot even find the CMOS battery!

Can anyone help me find it?

Many thanks in advance.

just curious..  my old acer aspire one 877 came with a power adapter that will still provide power to the laptop even when the battery that comes with the laptop expires and doesn't work anymore.  my question with this bmax y11 is.. will the power charger that comes with it continue to power the bmax y11 when the internal battery dies out?  in other words, must there always be a functioning internal battery for the laptop to work?
