The AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS scored 16,854 on Cinebench R23's multi-core test. On the other hand, its single core score of 1,588 was lower than expected and should be around 1,800. The APU is expected to power Alienware's x16 gaming laptop in Q2, 2023.

Compared to what?

vs Intel, no, Intel is the king of high power when you actually push the CPU. On idle, Intel can go very low.
vs Apple, probably, Apple wins, again, when you actually push the CPU.

But Intel is still on worse lithography. So they can make some true advances.
And AMD is really good when you consider their iGPU is a very capable one.

Can't wait to see this apu with LPDDR5x and some very fast ssd. Should be a good match vs Mac book Air or even lower end Pros.
