Keeping the Lightning port instead of upgrading to a faster USB C for data transfer is very bad. The lightning port is beyond very slow when syncing with iTunes on a computer. Each time it syncs it has to do a complete backup first so if you have 60-100 gb of data on your iPhone it takes forever to backup. It is even worse if you have an iPad Pro 10.5 model too that you have to backup up and sync both with a computer.
