Asus has unleashed its panel of motherboards that support AMD's B550 chipset on the US market. They enable up to 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes when equipped with a Ryzen 3000-series APU. These cost-effective new components are of the OEM's popular ROG Strix, TUF Gaming and Prime brands.

You can have MSI Mag Tomahawk X570 for 225 Euros, are these MBs with B550 chipset (and more expensive) better?

PCIe 4.0 is the biggest difference, and for that lone, for some people like myself, yes it is worth it.
If you move vast volumes of data, you NEEEEEED PCIe 4.0
