Title: This is why Xiaomi opted for the weak Snapdragon 439 on the Redmi 8
Post by: Redaktion on October 16, 2019, 15:57:08
Xiaomi fans may have felt confused when the Redmi 8's spec sheet was released, as the device features a Snapdragon 439—the same SoC on the cheaper Redmi 8A, and a much weaker chipset than the Snapdragon 632 on the Redmi 7. Xiaomi had a reason for it, and it's not a completely unreasonable one, either.

Dude, snapdragon 632 is eight core A53 at 1.8 Ghz and snapdragon 439 is eight core a53 at 2 Ghz. How exactly is the snapdragon 439 slower in your view? Except the slower gpu, I see no cons.

We've run plenty of tests on both SoCs and the Snapdragon 632 typically has a ~40% single-core advantage over the Snapdragon 438.

Xiaomi always does this. For example Mi Max was more powerful then Mi Max 2 and 3.. They put a phone in the market that is a real good deal and where they barely earn money on.. Then the successor they put in a cheap a** SOC and hope nobody will notice. And cash in..
