The new electric Golf should cost about US$24,000 before government subsidies and will be a nimble hatchback instead of the initially planned ID.2 crossover form factor. VW may try to wiggle the iconic Golf name into the production version title somehow when the redesigned Tesla Model 2 competitor lands in 2025.
